About the role

The Chemistry Department at Wesleyan University invites applications for an open-rank tenure-track Professor of Chemistry position in any of the areas encompassed by experimental physical, computational physical, or inorganic chemistry, with an expected start date of July 1, 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a vibrant, externally funded research program involving both graduate and undergraduate researchers.
  • Teach a variety of courses in physical chemistry and inorganic chemistry, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Advise and mentor students.
  • Participate in faculty governance at the departmental and university level.

Requirements

  • A Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field at the time of application.

Qualifications

  • Potential for excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Experience teaching courses in physical chemistry or inorganic chemistry.
  • Ability to teach both introductory and advanced topics.
  • Success in working with diverse populations.
  • Research that contributes to Wesleyan's interdisciplinary programs.
