Assistant/Associate Professor of Chemistry
10-month, tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level beginning January 2027 on the Tifton, GA main campus.
About the Role
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate Chemistry to majors, non-majors, and dual enrollment students. The department supports the core curriculum, nursing program, and Biology major. We seek candidates who can teach general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, quantitative chemistry, and instrumental analysis.
Responsibilities
- Teach face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses as needed
- Teach dual enrollment/high school students
- Maintain a roster of advisees across Math & Science disciplines
- Assist with curriculum development and review
- Participate in course and program assessment
- Engage in student recruitment and retention initiatives
- Serve on institutional committees
Requirements
- Ph.D. in chemistry or closely related field (required)
- Background in biochemistry (preferred)
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and empower students
- Strong computer and technology skills
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Finalists are subject to a criminal background check
