About the role
This is a tenure-track position with rank negotiable based on experience. The ideal candidate will have a degree and research experience in Physical Chemistry, excellent team-building skills, and the interest and experience to provide growth to the Department of Natural Sciences.
Responsibilities
- Teach a full-time load of chemistry courses, including preparation of course materials and assessments
- Conduct laboratory instruction conforming to best practices, including safety
- Obtain laboratory equipment and supplies for instruction and undergraduate research
- Empower and supervise undergraduate research
- Participate actively in the university learning community, including committees, seminars, and department meetings
- Participate in student advising and success programs
- Maintain a commitment to academic scholarship in the field of expertise
Qualifications
- Enthusiastic and contagious Christian faith committed to teaching, research, and leadership at a small, dynamic Christian university integrating faith and academic excellence
- Genuine agreement with the University’s Statement of Faith and Community Covenant for life and work at LeTourneau
- Demonstrated teaching competencies including freshman to senior-level courses (lecture and lab), physical chemistry, and general chemistry (with potential to teach other upper-level courses)
- Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators
- Experience and skills in chemistry research transferable to research involving undergraduate students

Schedule
The position is for nine months with the possibility of summer school teaching. Classes and other responsibilities are conducted primarily on weekdays but could include some evening classes and independent studies. Attendance will also be required at some evening and weekend events.
