Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the MGR PATIENT ACCESS/SCHEDULING, performs patient registration and pre-registration of scheduled accounts, verify insurance coverage, benefits, and obtains pre-certification, referral or authorizations as needed per insurance requirements; participates in the collection of up-front revenue due the facility and provides quality customer service to internal and external customers.

Requirements

• Associate Patient Services Specialist: 6 months of customer service experience.
• Patient Services Specialist: 2 years of general office experience (including public interaction) and 1 year of patient access experience.
• Senior Patient Services Specialist: 2 years of general office experience (with public interaction) and 3 years of patient access experience.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Associate Patient Services Specialist: General office experience.
• Patient Services Specialist: Data entry, medical terminology and insurance experience; medical setting experience.
• Senior Patient Services Specialist: Courses in keyboarding and office practices; courses in medical terminology; upon hire: Epic credentialing; data entry, medical terminology and insurance experience; medical setting experience.

Pay

• Associate Patient Services Specialist: $20.93 – $32.07 per hour
• Patient Services Specialist: $21.92 – $33.62 per hour
• Senior Patient Services Specialist: $22.97 – $35.32 per hour

Schedule

Full time; multiple shifts available.
