Responsibilities
- Performs patient registration and pre-registration of scheduled accounts.
- Verifies insurance coverage, benefits, and obtains pre-certification, referral, or authorizations as needed per insurance requirements.
- Participates in the collection of up-front revenue due the facility.
- Provides quality customer service to internal and external customers.
Requirements
Required Qualifications vary by role:
- Associate Patient Services Specialist: 6 months customer service experience.
- Patient Services Specialist: 2 years general office experience, including public interaction; 1 year patient access experience.
- Senior Patient Services Specialist: 2 years general office experience with public interaction; 3 years patient access experience.
Qualifications
- All roles require general office experience.
- Preferred qualifications include data entry, medical terminology, and insurance experience; medical setting experience.
