About the role

The Associate Patient Care Coordinator provides patient care in accordance with established methods and techniques and conforms to recognized standards. The role is located at 3680 NW Samaritan Dr, Corvallis, OR 97330 and may require occasional travel to multiple locations for coverage. The schedule is a 40-hour week, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:15 am to 5:30 pm PST.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Participates in and maintains a culture consistent with the Service and Behavioral Standards Handbook
  • Greets patients for providers, answers the telephone, routes calls/tasks, books appointments, verifies patient insurance coverage, acts as cashier for payments, and prepares for appointments
  • Greets and checks patients in, verifies current demographics and insurance coverage, notifies back-office staff of patient's arrival in a timely manner
  • Uses the correct search criteria to eliminate the creation of duplicate documentation and enters in the EHR
  • Contact the assistant or provider promptly when an acutely ill patient either telephones or approaches the reception desk with or without an appointment
  • Directs patient flow and prepares patients for exams
  • Proactively monitors and manages provider schedules for accuracy
  • Actively participates in the cleaning of shared work areas
  • Participates in the orientation and training of new employees
  • May work at multiple sites as determined by department necessity
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+ years of computer proficiency experience (multi-task through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • 1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience
  • Experience working with an electronic health record
  • Knowledge of Medical terms
  • Experience working with scheduling programs
  • Ability to work well with providers, clinical staff and patients
  • 1+ years of experience working in medical office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records

Pay and Schedule

Hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
