Associate Patient Care Coordinator

Pursue your passion and potential at Optum, a global organization dedicated to improving health outcomes. As an Associate Patient Care Coordinator at WellMed at Ingram Park, you will play a crucial role in supporting the care team and enhancing patient experiences.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients upon arrival and manage wait times
- Complete check-in and check-out tasks, including insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and document copies
- Collect co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issue receipts
- Process walk-in patients and visitors
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and take messages
- Manage medical records, file documents, and prepare for schedules
- Assist patients with required paperwork and connect them with external resources
- Ensure all correspondence is scanned and filed, process medical records release requests, and maintain logs
- Build and maintain positive relationships with patients, employees, and the public
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1+ years of customer service or healthcare experience
- 1+ years of experience in a medical office position (preferred)
- 1+ years of experience/knowledge of medical terms (preferred)
- Experience working with an electronic health record (preferred)
- Beginner level of computer proficiency (preferred)
- Knowledge of insurance carriers and managed care plans (preferred)

Pay
The salary for this role will range from $16 to $29 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
