About the role
Ampirical is a company that focuses on shaping the future of the power grid with precision, innovation, and purpose. The Engineering PMO Department supports engineering project delivery across the project lifecycle, providing structure and oversight to ensure high-quality power delivery projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage contract scope for smaller projects, task orders, and designs valued at $150,000 or less, focused on single-discipline or non-complex designs
- Support the full project lifecycle — from proposal and kickoff through design, field coordination, and closeout — ensuring deliverables are on time, on budget, and contract-compliant
- Develop engineering budgets, milestone schedules, and resource plans using bottom-up methods and begin managing performance against those plans through execution
- Serve as a central hub for coordination, communication, and project controls, driving consistency, accountability, and smooth execution across all engineering projects
- Support stakeholder communication across engineering teams, clients, subconsultants, and internal leadership — including meetings, status reports, and change order tracking
- Develop and maintain contract risk registers and monthly reporting across the five pillars of contract management: scope, risk, schedule, budget, and resources

Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or a relevant field
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of project management experience in utilities engineering or very similar technical fields
- Ambitious and proactive attitude towards learning and growth
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software

- Salary Range: $76,000+ - Commensurate (dependent on experience, education, and qualifications)
