Floating Assistant Property Manager role supporting the Glen Oaks community in Hayward, CA.
About the role
You will maintain the community to a market-ready standard, deliver high-level resident service, and build and motivate a high-performing on-site team to maximize property performance.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Property Manager with overall operations: maintenance, capital improvements, lease administration, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, collections, evictions, vacancy anticipation, marketing, lease renewals, service contracts, expense control, and audits.
- Provide superior customer service and communication to residents and prospects to enhance satisfaction, renewals, revenue, reputation, and profitability.
- Complete lease and renewal paperwork to company standards.
- Track and evaluate advertising and client traffic.
- Maintain and model Cushman & Wakefield’s mission to be the best national management company.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the on-site team, ensuring compliance with all Cushman & Wakefield policies and procedures.
- Interview, hire, and coach team members as needed.
- Maintain resident files in accordance with company standards.
- Resolve resident conflicts promptly and consistently to maintain a positive living environment.
- Manage and maintain the community budget and finances.
- Work with leasing staff to meet leasing and marketing goals.
- Supervise team operations and performance, including goal-setting and performance improvement.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma, GED, or technical/vocational school required.
- 3+ years of property management experience.
- 1+ years of management experience.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite and internet navigation.
- General office, bookkeeping, and sales skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Work environment
- Professional office setting with standard equipment (computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines).
- Regular travel between properties in varying weather conditions.
- Frequent standing, walking, ascending/descending staircases, ladders, or step stools.
- Up to 85% of time spent in a stationary position (sitting or standing).
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 25 pounds.
- Up to 15% travel may be required, with frequency and duration varying.
Pay
$25.50 – $30.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other eligibility factors.
