Assistant Professor of Finance
About the role
The Division of Social Sciences, Business, and Education at Penn State Abington seeks one (1) tenure-track Assistant Professor in the field of Finance. This is a nine-month appointment beginning in either January 2027 or August 2027, aligned with the Spring or Fall semester.
Responsibilities
- Teach nine (9) contact hours per semester (Courses may include, but not limited to: Corporation Finance, and upper-level finance courses such as Multinational Financial Management, Financial Markets and Institutions, and Derivative Securities)
- Advise majors related to their discipline
- Develop a robust research program that can lead to publications, external grant funding, etc.
- Provide service to the Division, College, and University, and to the profession
- Teach students from diverse backgrounds and foster student success both inside and outside the classroom
- Inclusion of undergraduate students in research and experiential learning opportunities is encouraged
- Regular on-campus presence is an essential function of this position
Requirements
- Earned a doctorate in Finance or a closely related field by the start date of the appointment (December 1, 2026, for a January 2027 start or July 1, 2027, for an August 2027 start)

- Experience with and teaching pedagogy for addressing the learning needs of diverse and first-generation students in higher education
- Research statement
