Assistant Professor of Biology
About this position
The Assistant Professor of Biology will teach gateway and milestone Biology classes, especially Microbiology, Cellular Biology Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Lecture and Lab. Teaching Pathophysiology and additional upper level Physiology courses is also a possibility. The candidate is expected to serve on faculty committees, advise students, and mentor students on independent research projects and engage in additional scholarly activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach gateway and milestone Biology classes, as needed, and especially Microbiology, Cellular Biology Anatomy and Physiology I and II
- Lecture and Lab
- Teaching Pathophysiology and additional upper level Physiology courses is also a possibility
- Serve on faculty committees
- Advising students
- Mentoring students on independent research projects
- Engage in additional scholarly activities
Qualifications
- Minimum PhD in Biology or equivalent terminal degree, with expertise in human physiology
- Experience teaching Biology and Physiology on the college level
