About this position

The Assistant Professor of Biology will teach gateway and milestone Biology classes, especially Microbiology, Cellular Biology Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Lecture and Lab. Teaching Pathophysiology and additional upper level Physiology courses is also a possibility. The candidate is expected to serve on faculty committees, advise students, and mentor students on independent research projects and engage in additional scholarly activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach gateway and milestone Biology classes, as needed, and especially Microbiology, Cellular Biology Anatomy and Physiology I and II
  • Lecture and Lab
  • Teaching Pathophysiology and additional upper level Physiology courses is also a possibility
  • Serve on faculty committees
  • Advising students
  • Mentoring students on independent research projects
  • Engage in additional scholarly activities

Qualifications

  • Minimum PhD in Biology or equivalent terminal degree, with expertise in human physiology
  • Experience teaching Biology and Physiology on the college level
