Stephens College invites applications for a permanent, full-time, non-tenure track faculty position in Biology within the School of Health Sciences.
Job Description
The Successful Candidate Will Design And Teach Innovative, Student-centered Biology Courses For Biology, Health Science, And Nursing Majors In Two Or More Of The Following Areas:
- Introductory Biology
- Anatomy & Physiology
- Cell and Molecular Biology
- Vertebrate Biology
- Evolution and Ecology
- Conservation and Environmental Science
Preference Will Be Given To Candidates Who Engage Undergraduate Students In Research Activities.
Have Experience Mentoring Student Research Projects.
Demonstrate A Commitment To Experiential Learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and teach undergraduate courses in Biology.
- Advise undergraduate students academically.
- Establish and maintain an undergraduate research program.
- Participate in departmental and college service activities.
- Contribute to curriculum and program development within the School of Health Sciences.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Biology, Animal Science, or a closely related field.
- Education College or university teaching experience.
- Demonstrated record of research accomplishments suitable for undergraduate collaboration.
- Strong commitment to inclusive, engaging, and innovative teaching practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postdoctoral research experience.
- Biological Sciences Experience mentoring undergraduate research students.
- Experience providing academic advising to undergraduate students.
