Assistant Professor of Biology
Position Overview
The College of Sciences and Mathematics at Belmont University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology. The successful candidate will join a collaborative department committed to providing high-quality undergraduate education and hands-on research experiences.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Teach introductory-level biology courses for majors and non-majors.
- Biological Sciences Offer upper-level courses in area(s) of expertise that complement departmental offerings.
- Maintain a full-time teaching load of 24 credit hours per academic year.
- Develop an undergraduate research program that enhances departmental strengths.
- Engage in academic advising, student mentoring, scholarly activity, and university service.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary general education programs through collaborative teaching and course design.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Biology or closely related field (ABD candidates considered).
- Jobs College-level teaching experience strongly preferred.
- Commitment to undergraduate teaching, student mentoring, and active scholarship.
- Ability to integrate technology effectively into teaching.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teaching and research.
