About the role
Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is currently looking for a talented Pastry Chef who is passionate about food quality, customer service, community, and the bakery's mission.
Responsibilities
- Participate in a dynamic team that offers a unique menu selection of more than 40 fresh baked pastries, pies, cakes, and muffins made with honest, whole ingredients.
- Create one-of-a-kind pastries and baked goods by following recipes and paying close attention to details.
- Lift large amounts of dough, flour, and other supplies weighing 50 lbs. or more and stand, lift, and mix daily.
- Work through change and be flexible while maintaining a keen eye on the kitchen operations.
- Start shifts early, typically before sunrise.
Requirements
- Proven track record of super-hero abilities in the kitchen, including following recipes, paying close attention to details, and creating unique pastries and baked goods.
- The ability to work through change and be flexible while keeping an eye on the kitchen operations.
- A love for working early mornings, with shifts starting before sunrise.
- At least 1+ years of large-scale baking/pastry experience, with experience in quickly decorating pastries (preferred).
- Compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for food handlers and sanitation standards.
Qualifications
- Formal baking/pastry education is a bonus but not required for this position.
