Assistant Nurse Manager - Stepdown (Nights)

Role Overview

This position involves coordinating patient care, managing personnel, maintaining and purchasing equipment, and tracking departmental statistics. The role may include charge or leadership responsibilities and requires strong coordination, communication, and management skills to support departmental and patient care objectives.

Responsibilities

• Manage staff by hiring, training, assigning tasks, evaluating performance, and supporting professional development to meet departmental goals.
• Assist in developing staffing, revenue, and expense budgets, ensuring adherence and responding to operational changes.
• Oversee patient care, ensuring interventions are appropriate for patient age and needs, and document according to policies.
• Create and implement collaborative care plans based on assessments and medical treatments.
• Review staff hours, approve payroll updates, reconcile time cards, and manage staff communications and meetings.
• Determine staffing needs, assign nursing duties, manage overtime, and conduct performance reviews and disciplinary actions as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• Nursing Diploma/Associate's Degree with RN licensure.
• 2-5 years of experience; supervisory experience preferred for higher roles.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, 5-10 years of experience, and supervisory experience of less than 2 years.
• Leadership abilities, staff management, and organizational skills.
