Assistant Nurse Manager - Operating Room

About the role

This position is responsible for coordinating patient care, personnel management, equipment maintenance, procurement, and data collection within the operating room. The role involves managing staff hiring, training, performance evaluations, and professional development, ensuring departmental productivity aligns with organizational goals. It includes participating in staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation, as well as overseeing patient care tailored to individual needs and documenting interventions per policy.

This role plays a vital part in a fast-paced, technologically advanced surgical environment, working alongside top surgeons and anesthesiologists to support complex procedures and innovative treatments.

Responsibilities

• Manage staff performance, conduct evaluations, and develop professional growth plans.
• Assist in staffing, budget adherence, and responding to operational changes.
• Ensure safe, quality patient care through collaborative planning based on assessments and medical treatments.
• Handle staff scheduling, payroll reconciliation, and communication, including leading meetings and managing overtime and disciplinary actions.
• Monitor staff productivity and support departmental operational objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and RN licensure.
• 2-5 years of experience; preferred 5-10 years with some supervision experience.
