Assistant Nurse Manager - Operating Room

About the role

This position involves coordinating patient care, managing personnel, maintaining equipment, and overseeing departmental operations within a perioperative setting.

Responsibilities

• Hires, trains, evaluates staff, and conducts performance reviews to ensure departmental productivity and compliance with operational goals.
• Participates in staffing, budgeting, and responding to business changes to meet financial and operational targets.
• Oversees patient care planning, documentation, and collaboration based on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment needs.
• Manages staff scheduling, assigns nursing duties, approves payroll, and handles disciplinary actions and professional development.
• Ensures staff productivity aligns with departmental objectives and conducts performance evaluations with improvement recommendations.

Requirements

• RN license with a Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2–5 years of nursing experience; less than 2 years of supervisor experience preferred for higher education levels.
• Ability to manage staff, oversee patient care, and support departmental operations effectively.

Preferred qualifications

• Preferred certifications include ACLS, PALS, CNOR or Leader Certification.
• Experience with Excel and data analytics.
