Assistant Nurse Manager - Operating Room

About the role

This position involves coordinating patient care and managing nursing staff in the Operating Room (OR). The role requires overseeing personnel, maintaining equipment, and ensuring efficient department operations. The assistant nurse manager creates collaborative care plans, monitors staff productivity, and handles staff scheduling, payroll, and performance reviews.

Responsibilities

• Hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, and supporting professional development
• Developing staffing plans, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with policies
• Manage staffing, performance evaluations, and staff development
• Ensure quality patient care according to care plans and policies
• Develop and oversee departmental budgets and operational goals
• Coordinate staff scheduling, payroll, and disciplinary actions
• Lead meetings, communicate departmental updates, and support continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with a Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree; Bachelor's preferred
• 2-5 years of nursing experience; supervisor experience is preferred
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Experience in OR settings and staff management
