Assistant JV Boys Ultimate Frisbee Coach

About the Role

Lakeside School, an independent 5-12 coeducational day school located in North Seattle, is seeking a Junior Varsity Boys Ultimate Assistant Coach. The season runs from the end of August to mid-November, 2026.

The coach, reporting to the Junior Varsity Head Coach, will join an athletics program that includes 25 varsity teams, most of which have both sub-varsity and middle-school counterparts. The Ultimate program includes two varsity teams (boys in the fall) and one JV boys team, along with a Middle School co-ed program that runs in the spring.

Responsibilities

• Compliance with all Lakeside School and Disc NW policies and procedures.
• Commitment to providing supports, messaging, actions, and opportunities to a diverse student body with different and evolving lived experiences and levels of preparation as athletes.
• Supervision and instruction of student-athletes during team activities.
• Maintenance and inventory of team equipment and apparel.
• Attendance at required program and interscholastic athletics program meetings.
• Support of multi-sport participation for student-athletes.
• Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes.
• Other program-wide duties as assigned by the director of athletics.

Requirements and Qualifications

• At least 25 years of age with a clean driving record.
• Availability for all practices and competitions from 3pm daily during the coaching season, including weekends as required.
• Experience coaching Ultimate at the club, youth, high school, or college level.
• Demonstrated cultural awareness, including knowledge of personal cultural lenses and the ability to interact respectfully with diverse cultures.
• Possess or obtain current First Aid/CPR certification prior to the start of the season.
• Satisfactorily complete two criminal background checks.
