About the role

As a member of the Morris University Center (MUC) administrative team, the Assistant Director for Training, Development & Belonging is responsible for signature MUC programming, day-to-day building management impacting student and guest-facing operations such as the Welcome Desk, management of human resources functions for the UC, staff development and training for both students and full-time staff, and overall assessment efforts for the MUC.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A total of one (1) year (12 months) in education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position. (Note: Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.)
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business or public administration, marketing, student personnel or related field.
  • 1+ year of college union/student center/student activities experience (concurrent with above minimum).
  • Experience in event planning and management.
  • Proven organizational and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to customer service.
  • Excellent communication and team building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise personnel and provide guidance to professional and support staff.
  • Availability for variable hours during fall and spring semesters, occasional extended workdays, occasional weekends, and on-call emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of supervisory experience.
  • Program assessment experience and knowledge.
  • Programming experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
