General Responsibilities
- Work closely with ODAR’s Program Manager II, Alumni Affairs Specialist, and the Senior Director of Development II to engage with members of the School of Nursing Board of Visitors and Junior Board of Visitors, including securing corporate and individual sponsorships for their annual fundraising event.
- Execute fundraising strategies to raise mid-level gifts in support of the UAB School of Nursing.
- Work with other members of ODAR, the Dean’s Office, and the University Advancement Services staff to ensure that potential gift prospects are properly researched and assigned, that all solicitations are coordinated and completed, and that donors receive appropriate acknowledgments and recognition.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business or a related field and three (3) years of related experience required.
- Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Preferences
- Minimum 3 years of fundraising or equivalent experience
- Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Ability to work competently within CRM
- Intermediate knowledge of fundraising techniques (qualifying, asks, objections, messaging)
- Portfolio development / management
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a high functioning team
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and persuasively
- Advanced writing skills
- Presentation skills
- Intermediate project management
- Knowledge of HIPAA-compliant fundraising practices in healthcare philanthropy
Annual Salary Range
$47,665 to $66,000
