About the role

The Assistant Director for Marketing and Communications for the Division of Health Sciences oversees internal and external communications, coordinates development of effective marketing and communications materials for the Division of Health Sciences and implements strategic communications plans for the colleges, departments and programs. This is a writing heavy position with a strong emphasis on maintaining a strong website presence. This position reports directly to the Assistant Vice President for the Division of Health Sciences. This is an on-site position located in Stephenville, Texas with work hours: Mon-Fri; 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or as work requirements indicate. This position requires work beyond normal business hours, weekends, and holidays. This position does require intermittent travel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communication plans aligned with the DHS strategic goals.
  • Write, edit, and distribute communications through internal and external channels.
  • Strategically manage and create content for the college’s website presence, ensuring consistency consistent with the university’s brand and messaging.
  • Share messaging and branding strategies that effectively communicate.
  • In collaboration with Central MarCom, develop and create marketing materials for the college, including print and digital assets.
  • Assist in event planning for the college, including logistics coordination and promotion.
  • Protects and promotes the university’s brand identity.
  • Leadership and project management for full-time employees, student workers and interns.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or applicable field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Seven years of related experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills And Abilities: Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills. Experience working in a health science related field. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others while also maintaining the ability to work independently on projects. Interpersonal and communication skills. Planning and organizational skills. Supervisory skills. Strong attention to detail.
