About the role
The Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego is recruiting outstanding faculty with an interest in academia in the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology. The Division is ranked number 1 in research and teaching among global universities and number 28 in clinical care by the US World News. The division seeks to increase the number of faculty who conduct research in a broad array of Gastroenterology & Hepatology focused topic areas.
Responsibilities
The successful candidates will provide demonstrated excellence in the teaching of trainees and contribute to the maintenance of a collegial and collaborative academic environment. They will interact with a wide range of clinical, translational, and/or basic science programs and demonstrate and maintain a high quality, extramurally-funded research program. Candidates with a research interest in areas related to health disparities, community-based participatory research, and/or older adult populations are preferred.
Qualifications
- Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, MD/PhD, or PhD in Gastroenterology or health-related field.
- Candidates with active extramural grant funding are preferred.
