Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (HS Clin, Clin X) Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary Pathologists

About the role

Position: Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary Pathologists at the Department of Pathology, University of California, San Diego. The role involves clinical responsibilities for specimens from general care, organ transplant, and cancer programs at UC San Diego Health, including the Rebecca and John Moores Cancer Center, Jacobs Medical Center, Hillcrest Medical Center, and the Koman Family and McGrath Outpatient Pavilions, as well as referral/outreach/consultation programs and an expanding clinical integration network. Successful candidates will also engage in collaborative clinical and translational research with gastrointestinal/liver clinical teams and other colleagues, and teach medical students, residents, visiting scholars, and fellows. Appointment level (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) will be based on background and experience. Location: San Diego, CA. Responsibilities

• Provide clinical pathology services for specimens from general care, organ transplant, and cancer programs at UC San Diego Health (including Rebecca and John Moores Cancer Center, Jacobs Medical Center, Hillcrest Medical Center, Koman Family and McGrath Outpatient Pavilions).
• Participate in referral/outreach/consultation programs and expanding clinical integration network.
• Engage in collaborative clinical and translational research with gastrointestinal/liver clinical teams and other colleagues.
• Teach medical students, residents, visiting scholars, and fellows.

Requirements

Basic qualifications (required at time of application):

• MD or equivalent, DO, or MD/PhD in Pathology or related fields.
• Eligible for or possess a California medical license (or equivalent certification/permit) as determined by the Medical Board of California.
• Board‑eligible or board‑certified in Anatomic or Anatomic/Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology.

Additional qualifications (required at time of start):

• Completed fellowship training in Gastrointestinal/Hepatobiliary Pathology by the start of the appointment.
