About the role
The University of California, Berkeley seeks applicants for four tenure-track (Assistant Professor) positions and one tenured (Associate or Full Professor) position in the area of “AI, Inequality, and Society” (AIIS).
Responsibilities
- Contribute to research and teaching in the field of AI, Inequality, and Society.
- Collaborate with faculty from the Computer Science (CS), Sociology, Statistics, Information, and Law schools.
- Engage in interdisciplinary projects addressing societal impacts of AI.
Requirements
- PhD in relevant field such as Computer Science, Sociology, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- Strong record of research and publication in AI, Inequality, and Society.
- Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to teach effectively at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Skills
- Expertise in AI and its societal implications.
- Knowledge of sociological and statistical methods relevant to AI research.
- Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
