Assembly Technician I

About the role

Assembly of valves and kits, testing valves, and packaging for shipment to customers in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and test valves and kits based on procedures and drawings on production orders.
• Assemble and label repair kits, seal kits, and prepare loose parts for shipment.
• Strive to meet customer delivery due dates.
• Complete necessary paperwork and computer entry on all jobs.
• Maintain cleanliness of the assembly and test areas.
• Perform other work-related tasks, as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a manufacturing and assembly environment, preferably with subsea equipment.
• Ability to communicate and work well with a variety of personnel in a collaborative team environment.
• Highly motivated and well-suited to a varying schedule and the challenges of working different hours.
• Able to identify and solve problems, manage multiple priorities, and multitask.

Physical Demands

• Physical dexterity required; ability to ascend/descend ladders, climb or balance, and reach with hands/arms.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and move objects fifty (50) pounds or more.
• Ability to operate hand tools, such as grinders, drills, and drill press.
• Sitting, standing, and walking for at least eight (8) hours per day.
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Speak, hear, and use specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Work involves moderate to frequent exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
• May be required to work long hours, up to twelve (12) hours per day.

Work Environment

• Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, requiring basic safety precautions.
• Ability to wear and utilize Personal Protective Safety Equipment (PPE), including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses/goggles, and additional PPE as required (e.g., safety harnesses, Fire Retardant Clothing, hard hats).
• Work conditions may include working up to twelve (12) hours per day or more in an outdoor environment with exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
