Assembly Technician I

About the role
The Assembler Technician I is responsible for using blueprints to perform the assembly and packaging of aerospace, medical, and semiconductor components. This role focuses on producing high-quality products safely, efficiently, and on schedule while meeting both internal and external customer requirements. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to identify quality issues, and flexibility to support multiple functions through cross-training.
Responsibilities
- Assemble components accurately and efficiently according to blueprint drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
- Perform visual inspection on incoming product for contamination and defects.
- Remove defective materials and report any part, tooling, or equipment issues to supervision promptly.
- Use templates to validate conformance to specifications.
- Perform electrical testing using specified equipment (IR/DWV multimeter) and submit data into ERP system.
- Use various inspection and measuring tools, including magnifying glass, scales, and calipers.
- Operate or tend packaging machinery and regulate machine flow, speed, or temperature as required.
- Cross-train and rotate across multiple workstations to support production needs and efficiency.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with Supervisors, Production Leads, and peers to support department goals.
- Follow all safety standards and procedures, including PPE requirements.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area using safety standards and expectations.
- Other duties as needed or assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Degree or General Education Degree; or two (2) to three (3) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two (2) + years of aerospace assembly experience.
- Blueprint reading certificate desired.
- Ability to deal with and solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to count accurately.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to inspect parts and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Ability to safely handle cleaning agents such as alcohol solvents following procedures.
- Self-motivated with the ability to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, data entry, and document uploads.
- Previous blueprint reading and interpretation experience.
- Ability to use a variety of measuring equipment and hand tools.
- Frequent use of hands for handling small components and tools.
- Ability to stand for 6 to 8 hours and perform similar operations for 6-8 hours.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to perform visual inspection and close-up inspection tasks for 4 to 6 hours.
Preferred Skills
- Quality inspection experience in manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S practices.
- Strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities.

Pay
$19.50 - $22.50/hour, DOE
Schedule
1st shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, onsite in Valencia, CA
Working Conditions
- Work performed indoors in environmentally controlled environments.
- Required use of PPE including smocks, gloves, hairnets/full face covers, shoe covers, and safety-toed footwear.
