Primary Purpose

Under the direct supervision of the campus-based evaluation staff and the speech language pathologist, the clerk will provide reception and clerical assistance for the efficient operation of the campus special education department.

Qualifications

  • Certification/Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
  • Special Knowledge/ Skills:
    • Proficiency in typing and word processing
    • Working knowledge of basic office procedures
    • Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to use personal computer and software for spreadsheets, databases, word processing and electronically invite/schedule meetings
    • Bilingual preferred

Major Responsibilities And Duties

  • Aid campus-based evaluation staff in office management duties.
  • Aid in maintaining an efficient and positive work environment.
  • Maintain monthly calendar for upcoming ARDs and staff meetings.
  • Schedule ARD meetings for campus-based evaluation staff.
  • Aid in preparing materials for all ARD meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with campus-based evaluation staff to ensure the required/necessary participants are invited to ARD meetings.
  • Scan, upload and mail ARD documents to teachers and parents.
  • Maintain records, files, and other required documents on special education students.
  • File and maintain documents in the audit folder and special education software system immediately after the ARD is completed and activated.
  • Aid speech pathologist in preparing instructional materials as needed.
  • Communicate to district office any requests for records.
  • Interpret ARDs and phone calls, as necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as determined by the campus-based evaluation staff, speech pathologist or principal.
