Application Developer III-Epic Application Configuration

Job Description

This role is responsible for duties within the Epic platform, including design, configuration, customization, testing, deployment, support, and optimization of assigned Epic application areas or modules. The position partners with clients, stakeholders, Epic representatives, analysts, and IT teams to translate operational workflow needs into Epic-based solutions that align with BCBSM business and project objectives.

Departmental Requirements

• Relevant experience in application analysis, application support, systems implementation, configuration, testing, or related IT/business systems work.
• Experience supporting healthcare payer operations, including clinical data, care management, utilization management, claims, or other health plan functions, is preferred.
• Prior Epic implementation experience is desirable.
• Epic certification is required; candidates without certification may be considered if they are willing to complete the required out-of-state Epic training and obtain certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• Five (5) years of application programming and analysis experience required.
• Broad level of understanding surrounding information systems and application architecture standards required.
• Experience designing, developing and testing applications using proven or emerging technologies required.
• Project management and experience leading projects preferred.

Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex problems or processes that span multiple business areas, identify and understand requirements, and develop alternate solutions.

Understand the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail ability to process information with high levels of accuracy.

Expertise in multiple technical environments and possesses business knowledge that spans one or more business areas.

Written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently, or within a team environment.
