About the Role
Reporting to the Inpatient Clinical or Ambulatory Manager, this individual will provide application system support and collaborate independently with systems business and clinical management as a technical resource. Responsibilities include identifying, analyzing, prioritizing, and resolving system needs, as well as configuring, maintaining, and monitoring system use through use cases, workflows, and metrics. The role involves suggesting potential application modifications, enhancements, or business process changes, and developing metrics and KPIs to monitor performance, adherence to SLAs, and timely data recording.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the development and design of applications, requiring in-depth knowledge of the assigned system.
- Develop functional specifications, operational process flows, department procedures, business requirements, or other documentation for approved system enhancements or modifications.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of IS internal department processes and software application support with little to no supervision.
- Collaborate independently with IS management to provide technical resources for identifying, analyzing, prioritizing, and resolving system needs.
- Use cases, workflows, and metrics to configure, maintain, and monitor system use.
- Provide suggestions for potential application modifications, enhancements, or business process changes, and advise business and technical counterparts on current system functionality.
- Produce and provide analysis through reports, dashboards, and analytic tools to management.
- Develop metrics and KPIs to monitor the performance of management and staff in achieving SLAs, adhering to processes, and ensuring timely recording of pertinent data.
- Communicate effectively with users, colleagues, and developers.
- Provide estimates for moderate to complex work efforts.
- Support multiple concurrent projects and/or application modules, educate and coach other team members, and manage user expectations.
- Manage tasks, resources, and project plans for team assignments.
- Use critical thinking skills regarding the use of clinical and business operations software applications.
- Demonstrate initiative, creativity, and flexibility in problem resolution.
- Demonstrate commitment to excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate Degree in Information Sciences or related field, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- De-escalation training, if applicable.
- Five years of operational experience in a clinical or healthcare, business, or operational setting, OR a minimum of five years of functional and/or systems analysis and reporting experience.
- Complete education and pass certification in assigned EPIC application module(s) within 120 days of completed education.
Preferred Qualifications
- EPIC certification in the module(s) being represented.
- Experience in EMR installations.

- Highly effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships and provide education.
- Strong organizational skills in managing multiple priorities.
- Advanced understanding of business management.
Days and hours worked may be variable.
