Responsibilities
- Supervising the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable and accounts receivable collections department.
- Managing the company's financial tasks related to accounts payable, such as processing invoices, handling payments, and maintaining records.
- Managing the company’s AR collection activities, such as sending customer statements, collecting cash, and handling customer disputes.
- Reviewing and approving all customer credits in accordance with established limits.
- Ensuring that all payments are made in accordance with company policy and timely.
- Resolving vendor payment discrepancies and disputes on behalf of the company.
- Implementing and maintaining systems, procedures, and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines and best practices.
- Providing training, guidance, and direction to staff to ensure work is performed in an efficient, timely, and knowledgeable manner.
- Preparing and presenting reports detailing the accounts payable status to company executives and senior management.
- Preparing A/R aging reports with collection status updates to company executives and senior management.
- Maintaining and reporting Key Performance Indicators for AR and AP.
- Assisting with audits and providing recommendations for improving procedures and systems for initiating, approving, and recording accounts payable transactions.
- Supervises employees in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Accounting or related field; or equivalent
- Demonstrated progressive experience in management or supervisor
- Five to Seven years of experience in public/private accounting preferred
- Biotechnology or manufacturing industry experience preferred
