About the Role

This position supports CDPH’s mission and strategic plan by performing complex, technical, analytical, fiscal, and consultative work. The Analyst II serves as the Drill Coordinator & Grant Analyst, responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of fiscal transactions. Key duties include tracking complex special and federal Center for Healthy Communities (CHC) fiscal drills, inquiries, coordination, review, and tracking of fiscal packages related to Budget Change Concepts (BCC), Budget Change Proposals (BCP), and Spring Finance Letters (SFL) and grants.

The Analyst II develops and implements fiscal-related training and resources, coordinates budget and accounting issues, and acts as a liaison between CHC and administrative branches/divisions. The role provides fiscal-related recommendations to CHC executive leadership and branch/office managers.

The incumbent works under the direction of the Fiscal and Support Unit (FSU) Supervisor I, within the CHC, Center Office, Strategy and Alignment, Operations Section, Fiscal and Support Unit, Fiscal Procurement Unit (FPU).

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, monitor, and maintain fiscal transactions for CHC.
  • Track complex special and federal fiscal drills, inquiries, and coordination.
  • Review and track fiscal packages related to Budget Change Concepts (BCC), Budget Change Proposals (BCP), and Spring Finance Letters (SFL) and grants.
  • Develop and implement fiscal-related training and resources.
  • Coordinate budget and accounting issues between CHC and administrative branches/divisions.
  • Act as a liaison and provide fiscal-related recommendations to CHC executive leadership and branch/office managers.

Pay

Classification: Analyst II

Salary Range: $6,031.00 - $7,547.00 per month

New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

Note: This position is subject to the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025, which temporarily reduces the monthly base pay by 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. The salary range shown does not reflect this reduction.
