About the role

Are you looking for a career where you can be part of a team dedicated to supporting the world’s oldest and largest Conservation Corps? If so, come join California’s only department with an inspiring, life‑changing mission! We are seeking a creative, organized, motivated, and mission‑driven professional to join the California Conservation Corps (CCC) Headquarters’ Support, Training and Education Pathways (STEP) Branch in the Training Unit. In this role you will support the statewide Training Unit by creating curated learning content, collaborating with SMEs, formulating programmatic solutions, co‑facilitating training, and developing training evaluations. The CCC is a dynamic organization committed to developing young adults by challenging them to complete a year of public service and conservation‑related work. Employees inspire, educate and challenge young people to further their educational and professional goals, and the program protects and enhances the state’s environment. The position is hybrid (up to one day telework per week, minimum four days in‑office) located at CCC HQ, 1719 24th Street, Sacramento, CA 95816. The office is convenient to public transit (23rd Street Light Rail), situated in historic midtown Sacramento with walkable streets, shops, and restaurants, less than a mile from Highway 80, and features recent renovations, showers, gender‑neutral restrooms, kitchenettes, and free access to the CNRA gym.

Responsibilities

  • Create curated learning content applying adult learning theory and instructional design principles for the Learning Management System (Cornerstone).
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) as a high‑level advisor to isolate performance, knowledge, and operational skill gaps and develop solutions through training.
  • Formulate tailored programmatic solutions, independently evaluating whether organizational needs require on‑demand modules, instructor‑led courses, desk aids, or procedural manuals.
  • Co‑facilitate (or present) in‑person and virtual instructor‑led training.
  • Develop comprehensive and effective training evaluation analysis and recommend improvements.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should find personal fulfillment in public service and be motivated by the opportunity to make a tangible, positive difference in the lives of mentored youth and the state's diverse communities. Beyond technical knowledge, this hire must be an exceptional collaborator who can build effective relationships and solve complex problems within a diverse team. They should possess polished communication skills, enabling them to share critical information clearly with supervisory staff, with an attention to detail and a desire to perform the tasks related to the Duty Statement.
