Salary range: $6,031.00 - $7,547.00 monthly. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable. Alternate ranges: Analyst I $3,861.00 - $4,839.00 (A), $4,181.00 - $5,233.00 (B), $5,014.00 - $6,276.00 (C).

About the role

The SUN Bucks Analyst will join a fast-paced, exciting team responsible for building and maintaining an important new anti-hunger program. California is among the first states in the nation to implement the SUN Bucks program, which provides food benefits to families with children who qualify for free or reduced-price school meals during the summer. The SUN Bucks team is responsible for implementing and overseeing the program, including policy development, managing outreach contracts, training, technical assistance, program support, and stakeholder engagement throughout California.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex activities associated with SUN Bucks policy development, implementation, and interpretation.
  • Resolve SUN Bucks case escalations.
  • Conduct legislative bill analysis.
  • Manage contracts related to the program.
  • Lead special projects requiring research and analysis.
  • Proactively provide recommendations to management for program improvement.
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a group setting.
  • Maintain effective and ongoing communication with management.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience with anti-hunger programs like CalFresh and SUN Bucks, and/or other public assistance programs.
  • Experience working with stakeholders, public speaking, and/or developing policy/regulations.
  • Experience with program implementation and/or improving outcomes to meet organizational goals.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment.
