Responsibilities

  • Provide budgetary and administrative support to the Administration Program to ensure and facilitate completed staff work on budgetary issues and policy matters of critical concern.
  • Independently research, analyze, and monitor the allocation and management of each division’s budget in Administration.
  • Provide recommendations to management, including reports that document the status of their fiscal situation and trend analysis.
  • Analyze, review, and evaluate budget documentation; make recommendations to ensure the Administration program continues on the proper course.
  • Take a proactive role in correcting discrepancies.

Requirements

  • Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Analyst II exam.
  • For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
  • Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
  • If basing eligibility on education, include unofficial transcript(s)/diploma for verification. Unofficial, original, or official sealed transcripts will be accepted and may be required upon appointment.
  • Applicants with foreign transcripts/degrees must provide a transcript/degree U.S. equivalency report evaluation indicating the number of units and degree equivalence.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state-owned or leased vehicle.

Qualifications

The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must address the following:

  • Skills and experiences working in a team environment.
  • Experience with databases or analytical software and creating and presenting reports.
  • Skills and experiences with budgetary functions such as allocation of funds or tracking of encumbrances, expenditures, and positions.

The SOQ must be typed, no more than two pages in length, and in 12-point Arial font.
