About the role

As an Alternative Delivery Manager, you will provide direction and management for all phases of alternative/collaborative delivery projects. This includes involvement in the entire project lifecycle—from business development, teaming, and pursuits & proposals to active contract and design management. Success in this role requires goal orientation, organization, professionalism, excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to multitask, and strong decision-making abilities while working with internal and external teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all phases of alternative/collaborative delivery projects.
  • Engage in business development, teaming, pursuits, proposals, and contract/design management.
  • Collaborate with internal Michels teams and external partners/clients.
  • Provide leadership and project management guidance on design-build pursuits and project delivery.
  • Proactively communicate with clients and teams.
  • Develop win strategies, pricing, and project scheduling.
  • Create technical writing, processes, protocols, and manage change.
  • Build and sustain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory/permitting entities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of project management, telecommunications, or construction management experience.
  • Engineering, permitting, and construction experience specific to large-scale, complex fiber optic buildouts nationally.
  • Experience in key project leadership roles and strategic planning with PM/PMO skills.
  • Management experience leading a team (preferred).
  • Considerable experience in client management for project pursuits and delivery.
  • Experience with alternative delivery projects (e.g., design-build, CMGC, progressive design-build).
  • Construction experience in transportation engineering or projects (e.g., Highway DOT, bridges, foundations, retaining walls, federal projects).
  • Understanding of scheduling, estimating, and project controls software.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Travel requirements may exceed 50% depending on assignment and project needs.
