AIRPORT OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE WORKER III (DELEGATED) - MAUI, KAPALUA
Duties Summary
The Airport Operations and Maintenance Worker III is responsible for supervising the operations, maintenance, security, and crash/fire activities for Kapalua Airport. They serve as the representative of the Airport District Manager in dealing with airlines, tenants, licenses, permittees, personnel, and the general public.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Specialized Experience: Four (4) years of semi-skilled or skilled work experience in one or more building or mechanical trades. Successful completion of coursework at an accredited technical school or community college in a building or mechanical trade may be substituted for this experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester credit hours for six (6) months of experience up to a maximum of two (2) years.
Supervisory Aptitude: Applicants for the Airport Operations and Maintenance Worker III level MUST possess supervisory aptitude. Supervisory aptitude is demonstrated through regular or special assignments involving supervisory responsibilities, such as leading groups or teams, or completing training courses in supervision accompanied by application of supervisory skills in work assignments, and/or receiving favorable appraisals by a supervisor indicating supervisory potential.
Driver's License: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
SIDA Clearance - Federal Criminal History Records Check: Prospective employees must not have been convicted, or found "not guilty by reason of insanity," of a disqualifying criminal offense within ten years from the date of the application. Upon recommendation for hire, they will be required to undergo a fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding ten years.
