Aircraft Maintenance Representative

STS Technical Services is hiring in New Iberia, Louisiana.

About the role

Manage, direct, and control FedEx heavy maintenance, modification, and conversion programs at maintenance provider facilities to ensure all activities comply with FedEx maintenance, modification, and conversion specifications, schedules, configuration requirements, and quality standards. Ensure full compliance with contractual requirements and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).

Responsibilities

• Represent the Company as the project leader for all aircraft heavy maintenance, modification, and conversion activities at assigned maintenance provider facilities.
• Coordinate company instructions, manage and control execution of maintenance, modification, and conversion programs, and make final decisions regarding aircraft induction and redelivery.
• Make timely decisions on repair or replacement of parts/components and correction of discrepancies to ensure airworthiness; sign airworthiness release as required.
• Monitor contract maintenance providers for hours expended, material issued, and ground equipment; review invoices for accuracy, negotiate and approve proposed hours to ensure fair and reasonable billing within budget.
• Review FedEx heavy maintenance, modification, and conversion packages; anticipate problems and coordinate solutions with maintenance providers, FedEx departments, and management.
• Ensure effective communication between FedEx departments, contract maintenance providers, flight crews, and others to clarify specifications, requirements, policies, and contractual arrangements.
• Ensure timely completion of heavy maintenance, modifications, and conversions to minimize aircraft out-of-service time; provide accurate status reports to appropriate FedEx departments.
• Conduct on-site review and surveillance of airworthiness directives; ensure all documentation is recorded in the aircraft history per FedEx GMM and maintenance provider contract.
• Maintain open communications and strong working relationships with maintenance providers to address production, quality, safety, legal, and cost-control issues effectively.
• Coordinate aircraft debrief with maintenance providers and FedEx flight crew at delivery; work with FedEx test flight personnel post-maintenance to ensure all discrepancies from ground and flight acceptance tests are corrected.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent work experience plus five (5) years of relevant experience in Aircraft Heavy Maintenance project and process planning and management.
• Knowledge of cross-functional departmental processes preferred.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively lead multiple projects.
• Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Comprehensive computer skills using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Business Objects.
• Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• Valid A&P License required.
• 757 aircraft experience required.
