Responsibilities
- Care Planning: Develop informed care plans based on thorough medical, social, psychological, and functional assessments
- Safety Compliance: Ensure legal and regulatory time frames are met while following all policies, procedures, and statutes
- Investigative Work: Conduct detailed investigations into situations involving possible abuse, exploitation, abandonment, or self neglect
- Service Coordination: Complete referrals, arrange needed services, and monitor follow up to maintain service quality
- Reassessment Tasks: Perform periodic reviews to identify changes in consumer status and adjust support plans accordingly
- Advisory Support: Provide guidance to staff and the public on legal, medical, and privacy matters affecting protective service consumers
Schedule
Full-time employment. Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday‑Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch. On‑call requirements apply. Telework is not available for this position.
Pay
In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable.
Qualifications
- Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as an Aging Care Manager 1 or a County Caseworker 1; or
- Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or
- Six months of professional human services or nursing experience; and a bachelor's degree in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Other Requirements:
- Must meet the PA residency requirement (see Residency Guidelines for ways to satisfy).
- Hiring preference may be given to candidates who live within Pike County; if no eligible Pike County applicants, other county residents may be considered.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Legal Requirements: Must pass a background investigation; a conditional offer requires a drug screening and submission of criminal history reports.
