About the role
The ACE Investigator position involves generating and continuing investigations into fraud cases in healthcare, contracting, and grants, among others. This role requires close collaboration with ACE attorneys and agency personnel.
Responsibilities
- Generate new investigations and continue existing ones involving fraud in healthcare, contracting, and grants.
- Meet regularly with ACE attorneys and designated agency personnel to generate fraud investigations.
- Perform ancillary investigations-related services in support of assigned fraud investigations.
- Utilize electronic databases to identify documents, witnesses, and physical evidence.
- Prepare detailed reports on the progress of investigations for use by AUSAs and supervisory attorneys.
- Analyze large-scale hard-copy and electronic data to develop investigative leads and determine their relevance.
- Examine books, ledgers, payrolls, cost reports, billing statements, invoices, correspondence, and other records.
- Interview witnesses, conduct depositions, and examine sworn witness statements.
- Assist with the preparation and service of subpoenas for documentary materials, interrogatory answers, or witness testimony.
- Develop and refine evidence and proof required for successful litigation or settlement.
- Plan, schedule, and conduct investigations, and identify necessary resources.
- Perform other related ACE investigator duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Access, and other databases; experience with document review/management platforms, analyzing claims data, and docketing software is beneficial.
- Legal Knowledge: Ability to review and understand legal documents, including Motions and Briefs.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and professional communication abilities.
- Deadline Management: Ability to meet established deadlines and work collaboratively.
- Technical Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
Pay
$51,435.30 - $66,131.10 annually
