The National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP) is recruiting for two Research Fellow positions to work on a project for the research study on "Macroeconomic Modelling of Oil Price Shocks on Indian Economy" with NITI AAYOG. The position is initially for six months, renewal subject to performance and fund availability.

About the role

Research Fellows will contribute to the development and analysis of macroeconomic models focusing on the impact of oil price shocks on the Indian economy. They will collaborate with a team of economists and policy analysts at NITI AAYOG.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth research on macroeconomic models and their applications.
  • Develop and analyze data-driven models to assess the economic impacts of oil price shocks.
  • Collaborate with NITI AAYOG staff and other researchers to refine and validate models.
  • Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.

Requirements

  • PhD in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Strong background in econometrics and quantitative modeling.
  • Experience in working with large datasets and conducting empirical research.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in statistical software such as R, Python, or Stata.
  • Knowledge of economic theory and policy analysis.
  • Experience with macroeconomic modeling tools and techniques.

Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of econometric methods and time series analysis.
  • Experience with programming languages like R or Python.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
