The National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP) is recruiting for two Research Fellow positions to work on a project for the research study on "Macroeconomic Modelling of Oil Price Shocks on Indian Economy" with NITI AAYOG. The position is initially for six months, renewal subject to performance and fund availability.
About the role
The successful candidates will contribute to the research study by analyzing macroeconomic impacts of oil price shocks on the Indian economy. They will work closely with a team of economists and policy analysts at NITI AAYOG.
Responsibilities
- Analyze data related to oil prices and their impact on various sectors of the Indian economy
- Develop and refine models to predict economic outcomes under different scenarios
- Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders including policymakers and researchers
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure consistency in methodology and findings
Requirements
- PhD in Economics or a related field with a strong background in econometrics and macroeconomics
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in macroeconomic modeling or related fields
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Experience working with large datasets and statistical software (e.g., R, Python)
