The National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP) is recruiting for two Research Fellow positions to work on a project for the research study on "Macroeconomic Modelling of Oil Price Shocks on Indian Economy" with NITI AAYOG. The position is initially for six months, renewal subject to performance and fund availability.

About the role

As a Research Fellow, you will be involved in conducting research, analyzing data, and contributing to the development of macroeconomic models related to oil price shocks on the Indian economy. You will collaborate with a team of economists and researchers at NITI AAYOG.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on macroeconomic modeling techniques relevant to oil price shocks.
  • Analyze data related to oil prices and their impact on the Indian economy.
  • Develop and refine economic models to predict the effects of oil price changes.
  • Collaborate with other researchers and economists to integrate findings and improve model accuracy.
  • Present research findings at internal meetings and workshops.

Requirements

  • PhD in Economics or a related field with a strong focus on macroeconomics.
  • At least 2 years of post-doctoral research experience.
  • Experience in econometric modeling and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Economics or a related field.
  • Relevant professional experience in macroeconomic research.
  • Knowledge of statistical software such as R, Python, or Stata.

Skills

  • Expertise in macroeconomic modeling and econometrics.
  • Ability to analyze complex economic data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Strong programming skills in statistical software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
