About the role

The Pediatric Colorectal Center at Primary Children’s Hospital is seeking an energetic and passionate individual for a full-time APP position. This position will be essential in managing pediatric patients with GI dysmotility, constipation, anorectal malformations, and Hirschsprung disease. The APP will be responsible for independent patient care, leading an interdisciplinary team, quality improvement, and advocacy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coordinated care between patient clinic visits, including assessment of acute issues and referrals to appropriate team members, follow up care, and identifying gaps in patient care.
  • Identify gaps in health education and create education materials.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities with the team.
  • Support the clinical team in role development, family support, clinic operations, and patient education.
  • Participates in programmatic promotion through visits to local/regional pediatric providers, web page development, and attendance at national meetings.
  • Accountable for the provision of patient care and other duties as permitted by licensure and defined within Credentialing and Privileging documentation (hospital), Credentialing and Scope of Practice (Medical Group), Consultation and Referral Plan (NP), Delegation of Services Agreement (PA) (DOPL) or other similar documentation as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Current state license as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • If APRN, Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (Credentialing requirement).
  • Eligible for State Controlled Substance License II through V.
  • Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II through V.
  • BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
  • Other certifications as required (e.g. ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP).
  • Highly prefer prior pediatric GI clinical experience.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Master’s degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Must have completed an accredited program in Advanced Practice Nursing or Physician Assistant.
  • Must have passed the appropriate national certification exam.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in pediatric GI care.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. $57.33 - $88.47
