Role Overview
The Advanced Practice Provider II in the Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic provides comprehensive healthcare services, including patient diagnoses, treatments, education, and referrals. They serve as clinical resource and mentor for practitioners and students, ensuring high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient histories, physical exams, assessments, and tests to establish diagnoses and care plans
- Make medical decisions aligned with protocols, document findings accurately, and coordinate follow-up care
- Educate patients and families, promote self-management, and facilitate community outreach
- Supervise and train APP students and contribute to staff development
- Maintain current knowledge through professional development and participate in quality improvement, research, and committee activities
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant clinical experience
- Current licensure and certifications, including BLS and specific licenses for Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners
- Demonstrates leadership, effective communication, patient-centered behaviors, and knowledge of policies and regulations
- Skilled in collaborative team work, clinical decision-making, and continuous learning
