About the Role

This position involves providing comprehensive healthcare in designated primary or specialty areas, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, and referrals. The provider serves as a clinical resource, mentor, and role model for practitioners and students, ensuring high-quality patient care and supporting team development.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient histories, physical exams, assessments, and order tests.
  • Manage patient care based on clinical protocols and consult with supervising physicians when necessary.
  • Document health information accurately and efficiently.
  • Educate patients and families to promote self-management and adherence to treatment plans.
  • Arrange follow-up care and develop patient education materials.
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate APP students and contribute to staff education.
  • Stay current with advancements in the field through continuous learning and professional development.
  • Participate in quality improvement, clinical research, and departmental initiatives.

Requirements

  • Licensed Physician Assistant or APRN with relevant certification and licensure in Texas.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience as an APP, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS, with ongoing maintenance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, leadership ability, and knowledge of policies, regulations, and standards.
  • Patient-centered approach, teamwork, and commitment to professional growth and excellence in care.
