About the Role
Provides specialized healthcare as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in a burn care setting, serving as a clinical resource, educator, and leader to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Performs patient assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, and ordering tests
- Collaborates with physicians
- Educates patients and families
- Manages follow-ups
- Trains and evaluates APP students and healthcare trainees
- Stays current with professional advancements
- Participates in quality improvement and research initiatives
- Contributes to departmental goals and compliance efforts
- Delivers patient-centered care in accordance with state laws and protocols
- Utilizes evidence-based practices
- Mentors staff
- Participates in educational activities
- Promotes a collaborative, compliant, and efficient healthcare environment
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant fields
- 3+ years of clinical experience as an APP
- Current licensure and certifications, including BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Specific licensure/certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
- Demonstrated leadership and effective communication skills
- Patient-centered focus
- Knowledge of healthcare policies, regulations, and best practices
