About the Role
The Advanced Practice Provider II in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery delivers comprehensive patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, education, and referrals within a specialty clinic. They serve as a clinical resource, role model, and trainer for practitioners and students, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes and adherence to policies.
Responsibilities
- Perform clinical activities such as history-taking, physical exams, assessments, and ordering tests.
- Develop and implement patient care plans, educate patients and families, and coordinate follow-up care.
- Supervise and train APP students, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in quality improvement, clinical research, community outreach, and departmental projects.
- Maintain current certifications, licensure, and adhere to all relevant regulations and policies.
- Contribute to team collaboration, professional development, and organizational goals.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in nursing or Physician Assistant certification, with valid licensure and active certifications such as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Minimum of 3 years clinical experience performing similar duties; 5+ years preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and patient-centered care skills.
- Knowledge of Texas state regulations, healthcare policies, and clinical standards.
- Ability to educate, motivate, and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
