Advanced Practice Provider -Avon Urgent Care

About the role

The Advance Practice Provider (APP) will support the Urgent Care Clinic in Eagle County, Colorado, performing patient care, treatment, and developing or monitoring treatment plans in collaboration with or as directed by a supporting physician. This is a full-time position with flexible scheduling to accommodate peak and non-peak periods.

Schedule

• Peak Period (late December through mid-April, July, and August):
  • Four (4) twelve-hour shifts per week across any Eagle County Urgent Care location (96 hours per pay period).
  • Extra shifts (above the required 4 per week) are paid at locums rates per Vail Health/CMM policies.
• Non-Peak Period (balance of the year):
  • Two (2) twelve-hour shifts and one (1) 8-hour on-call/admin shift per week.
  • Voluntary shift pickups may be available, with on-call or call-off adjustments per hospital policies.

Includes 10 patient contact hours + 2 admin hours per shift.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients by reviewing medical history and performing physical exams.
• Interpret and evaluate patient data to determine management and treatment plans, consulting with physicians as needed.
• Assist in developing treatment plans and follow-up care.
• Educate patients about diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Adjust patient care plans by monitoring treatments and therapy plans.
• Order and administer laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic tests; explain procedures to patients.
• Perform in-clinic procedures (e.g., catheter placements, percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation, urodynamic studies).
• Assist with surgical procedures as instructed.
• Prescribe and regulate pharmacologic medicine.
• Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, and billing in a timely manner.
• Stay current on medical knowledge through conferences, workshops, and professional literature.
• Take on-call phone coverage as assigned.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Three years of experience as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of medical principles and practices.
• Professional licensure as a PA or NP with a current Colorado license in good standing.
• Valid DEA Drug License.
• Degree from an accredited PA or NP program.

Pay

Hourly pay ranges from $58.11 USD to $70.79 USD, based on relevant education and experience.
