Advanced Practice Provider - Urgent Care

About the Role

This position involves working at two locations in Florida, providing advanced patient care with minimal physician supervision in a specialized clinical setting.

Schedule

• 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
• 14 shifts per month
• Includes 2 weekends per month and holidays

Responsibilities

• Acts as an advanced resource for specialty area or lead worker in a clinic setting.
• Performs complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, prescribing treatment for quality patient care.
• Operates with a high degree of independence in a specialized clinical area.
• Assists in teaching students, residents, and interns in complex techniques and procedures.
• Assesses physical and psychosocial status of patients through interviews, health history, and diagnostic studies.
• Documents reports, progress notes, and medical records, including H & P, discharge summaries, and clinical notes (must be reviewed and countersigned by supervising medical staff within 24 hours).
• Recognizes deviations from normal in physical assessments and collaborates on treatment plans.
• Implements management based on lab results, physical assessments, and diagnostic studies.
• Performs detailed history and physical examinations.
• Initiates actions to facilitate therapeutic plans consistent with patients' healthcare needs.
• Provides age-appropriate care and demonstrates compassionate practices.
• Demonstrates awareness of legal issues and patients' rights.
• Identifies, analyzes, and resolves patient care issues to improve care quality.
• Dictates and documents accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintains provision of preventive health services.
• Conducts or participates in daily multidisciplinary rounds.
• Triages patients and shares clinical expertise with staff.
• Collaborates with other healthcare disciplines to ensure continuity and quality of care.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Department (ED) setting, with at least 2 years as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in urgent care.
• Competent in treating children aged 6 months and older and working independently.

Qualifications

• MN, MSN, DNP, PhD, or DNS degree in nursing or graduate of an accredited physician assistant program.
• Florida ARNP license or Physician Assistant licensure in the state of Florida.
• National advanced certification from an approved nursing specialty board or NCCPA certification for Physician Assistants.
• Current BLS certification.
